Voice Control

Voice control in a smart home is a popular and convenient way to interact with and manage various devices and systems using your voice. It allows you to control and automate different aspects of your home, such as lighting, temperature, security, entertainment, and more. Here’s how voice control works in a smart home:

Voice Assistant Integration:

To enable voice control in your smart home, you’ll need a voice assistant or a voice-controlled device like Amazon Echo (Alexa), Google Home (Google Assistant), or Apple HomePod (Siri). These devices come equipped with built-in microphones and speakers and are designed to understand and respond to voice commands.

01.

Voice Commands

You can control your smart home devices by simply speaking voice commands to your voice assistant. For example:

“Alexa, turn off the lights.”

“Hey Google, set the Living AC to 24 degrees.”

“Siri, lock the front door.”

02.

Voice Feedback

The voice assistant responds to your commands with voice feedback, confirming actions or providing information. For example, it might say, “Okay, the lights are off,” after you command it to turn off the lights.

03.

Scene and Routine Activation

Scenes are always preferable than controlling individual appliances. Since scenes are pre-set action made to do specific tasks, you need just to call the scene name to trigger the scenes from Alexa, Google or Siri. For instance, you can create a “Good Morning” scene that turns on the lights, adjusts the AC, and reads the weather forecast when you say, “Good morning.”

04.

Smart Watch

Google Assistant & Siri are enabled to be operated from android & Apple smart watches. It is very convenient to operate your whole home from virtually anywhere. You can command the voice assistant to either operate an individual item or trigger a scene

05.

Local language

With the advancement in technology, voice assistant has started supporting vernacular language. It means you can control your home giving commands in your own language and not necessarily in English. This becomes very easy for those who are not well versed with English. And more importantly elders can use it easily too.
